PASSIVE SCANNING DRUG DETECTION DOG HANDLER COURSE
The NASDU level 3 National Award for Passive Drug Detection Dog Handlers award aims to provide the learner with basic skills, knowledge and understanding required to ensure the provision of a professional level of service as a Passive Drug Detection Dog Handler. This National Award has been developed to meet the National Occupational Standards (NOS's) and the requirements of BS8517-2:2010 for a Detection Dog Handler. It is an assessment of the learners (handlers) ability to read the indications given by a dog and to meet the required performance criteria, it is also an assessment of the dogs ability, certification will be for the team i.e dog and handler not the handler alone.
If you have your own suitable breed of dog with the ability to be trained as a passive scanning detection dog you are welcome to bring it on the course with you. Alternatively we provide part and fully trained dogs for sale in conjunction with your course.
This is not an attendance course you will be continually assessed throughout with many topics intended to improve the mental and physical ability of our students as they learn to deal with conflict situations with realisitic scenario based training. Our syllabus goes above and beyond the awarding body requirements giving you not only what is required for you to achieve the qualification but more importantly those skills required enabling you to be successful in the industry. It is designed to meet the needs of men and women from all walks of life regardless of background or previous knowledge.
