All qualifications have been developed by NASDU to meet National Occupational Standards for a security dog handler and the training requirements contained in BS 8517-1:2009 Code of Practice for the use of a General Purpose Security Dog and/or BS 8517-2:2010 Code of Practice for the use of a Detection Dog.
All qualifications are awarded by Highfield Awarding Body for compliance (HABC) an Awarding Body authorized by the regulatory authority OFQUAL and recognized by the SIA as a body providing licence to practice qualifications to the private security sector. In addition the Skills Body for the private sector and for those learners achieving the Level 4 certificate for an Explosive Detection Dog Handler this qualification is also endorsed by the Institute of Munitions Clearance & Search Engineers (IMCSE).
To all service leavers our application for Approved Learning Provider status in the MOD Enhanced Learning Credit (ELC) Scheme has been assessed by the MOD panel at their recent meeting and we are pleased to inform you that our organisation has been approved.

Malpeet K9 Academy specialises in the use of operational dog teams, the sale of dogs in various disciplines and handler training both for UK and overseas customers. New to 2013 - We are now running train the trainers courses in conjunction with the handler course dates below for the same course durations and costs. To attend an instructor’s course you must be qualified in the discipline with at least 18 months operational experience. We are limiting one potential instructor per course and on successful completion and assessments you may apply to NASDU for Affiliate or Fully Inspected status.
